Meet the Board

The CCWPA Board of Directors is made up of volunteers giving their time and energy to learning about Washington state laws and their impact on CC communities and host churches.  We are a religious non-profit that seeks to assist Classical Conversations Directors and host churches in setting up and maintaining a Classical Conversations program in Washington state so that the Director can spend less time focused on administrative duties and more time equipping and empowering parents to educate their children using the Classical Conversations curriculum.

Ryan Singletary

President
Ryan's and his wife, Annie, have homeschooled with CC throughout. They have four children ranging in age from 7 to 14. For 2022-23 the Singletary kiddos will span Ch.I, Ch.A, Essentials (2nd Tour), and Foundations. Ryan has tutored six years of Essentials, while Annie has served as a Foundations tutor, F/E Director, and will soon add Challenge A to her resume.
Outside of CC, Ryan works as a firefighter in the Kent/Seatac area. He coaches soccer in the fall, baseball in the spring, and chops and stacks firewood whenever he can.
Ryan is the board President.

Teresa Coy

Vice President
Teresa is a homeschooling mother of 5 who has been blessed to see 3 of her children graduate, with the help of Classical Conversations, over the past 10 years - 2 from Ch.IV and her first from Ch.II. This year her youngest daughter will be in Ch.I and her youngest son in Ch.IV.
Over the years she has served in many leadership roles for CC - everything from Essentials Tutor, to Area Representative, to Challenge Director. To say that Teresa has loved this journey she has been blessed to be on, would be an understatement.
Teresa has been married to her wonderful husband, Shannon, for 34 years and in all her spare time she loves to read, knit, garden, and assist her family in all their entrepreneurial endeavors.

Secretary
Let us know if you would be interested in serving Washington's CC Directors and Tutors. We'd be happy to have you!

Shawna Zlab

Treasurer
Shawna has home-educated with CC for many years. She is grateful to have graduated two children from Challenge IV into college and will have a Ch.B and Ch.I student this year. Her family is part of the Lynnwood Community. She has served as an Essentials tutor and Challenge Director.
Shawna began her Masters in Classical Arts through Southeastern University in 2022, hoping to graduate at the same time her youngest child finishes CC.
With experience on another nonprofit board and prior experience in human resources and corporate law, Shawna serves as board Treasurer. For fun, she enjoys working with her husband, Joe, on house projects and reading biographies and history.
