What is Classical Conversations of Washington?
CCWPA is a professional association of licensed Directors and Tutors of Classical Conversations whose Communities meet in Washington State. With low annual cost of membership, CCWPA aims to offer professional development and common support for the Christian Mission, Vision and Values of Washington’s CC communities.
In an explicitly Christian environment an added layer of support is needed for homeschool Tutors, Directors, as well as the Host Churches where these communities meet. CCWPA offers legally-reviewed Interviewing Procedures, Community Handbooks, and Mission, Vision and Values statements which unify its associated communities across Washington State. Additionally, CCWPA’s common Statement of Faith recognizes that fellow communities are explicitly Christian homeschooling cooperatives.
CCWPA understands the importance of preserving the Christian character of its member communities and allowing them the religious freedom to meet and educate their children without restriction from public discrimination laws.
CCWPA further supports its Directors and Tutors on the business side of things: In order to encourage compliance with tax and legal regulations, CCWPA will give current and annually reviewed advice and recommendations for operation of both tutoring and administrative aspects of homeschooling in community.
Finally, CCWPA will represent associated communities via the licensed Directors as the facility user in the churches that host them. As the facility user, CCWPA functions as a non-profit religious organization with religious education as its aim.
